同乐城官网 www.xyqp168.com We are here to help prepare students for the world of work. We encourage students to focus on their aspirations and make informed decisions about this very important stage in their development. Our programme begins in KS3 during PSHCE lessons where pupils develop key skills including teamwork, presentation and leadership.
During their GCSE years, the girls join the Futurewise programme which helps identify their vocational strengths and abilities and guidance is provided to develop a plan for exploring their professional aspirations.
As part of the on-going careers programme, pupils will have access to an online Kudos Inspire account to investigate suitable careers, identify gaps in their skills, produce career plans and build their own CV. JAGS also host an Inspiring Futures Day at the end of the Year 11, which further equips students with the skills employers are demanding, as well as improve presentation techniques. The 18+choices optional event is another opportunity to look ahead with an introduction to Universities in the UK, Europe and USA, consider Art Foundation courses, work-based degrees and gap year programmes. During this event a series of subject specific presentations and workshops are held.
JAGS is a partner school with SEO London. The SEO Scholars Programme aims to provide access to accurate information and positive role models to help students make informed choices in their academic and profession progression routes. The Scholars programme provides girls with access to top universities and work placements in major firms. Last year girls visited Oxford, UCL and Southampton Universities and took part in events at PWC, KPMG, Morgan Stanley and Barclays.
In the Sixth Form, pupils are encouraged to seek work shadowing placements through their personal contacts and with the help of our JAGS network of contacts and Alumnae. Careers Seminars are also held during the year with relevant professionals to give the girls an opportunity to discuss specific career areas. Visits, courses and practical advice are also available on almost every aspect of future career development. External career related opportunities are promoted through Yammer, our internal social network, and through a weekly careers newsletter.
