同乐城官网 www.xyqp168.com The boys from Dulwich College Junior School joined up with the Prep School girls, as well as pupils from Dulwich Wood Primary School for the third Junior Symposium.
Across the school sites, the boys and girls took part in a series of thought provoking and challenging activities on the theme of "Conflict and Resolution". The Year 3 and 5 girls were joined by their Dulwich College colleagues at JAPS with pupils from Dulwich Wood Primary School, and Years 4 and 6 spent the day at Dulwich College.
The day opened with a fantastic environmental talk in the CMC by Megan Swann, a Magic Circile magician. She gave a fascinating talk about the importance of saving our planet, using magic to demonstrate, and instilling the message that every little action they take can make a big difference.
A series of seminars and activities followed throughout the day, including creating doves made of clay in ‘War through Art’, learning about Romeo and Juliet, and ‘Bringers of War & Peace’ through music. There was also an Escape Room in the ICT suite, and the highlight for many was learning all about stage combat and putting that into practice in the ‘Strike Fight’ activity. The pupils even got to watch the professionals demonstrate a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean at the end of the day.
As well as stimulating the pupils' imagination and curiosity, the event has the added benefit of getting the boys and girls to collaborate.
‘I really loved the Strike Fight session. I got to fight a boy!'
'I worked as part of a team to solve team challenges.'
