同乐城官网 www.xyqp168.com Students at the Prep School were delighted to welcome poet Joshua Seigal for a mini two day residency this week.
Joshua livened up the Monday morning with an energetic assembly, where he presented prizes to the winners of the written poetry competition, and performed some of his brilliant accessible poetry, including “I don’t like Poetry”, “Just a Book” (with audience participation), and “Tell It To the Dog”. He then visited every class individually, running an hour long poetry writing workshop for each. Using different methods and stimuli in each class such as remembered objects, special places, and the five senses, he really encouraged and inspired the girls to produce some powerful poems.
Florence, Year 4 said “I really enjoyed his visit because he read us lots of his poems, they were really funny, and had clever twists at the end”.
Pyale, Year 4 said “He inspires me a lot and now I love poetry”.
Avanti, Year 4 said “I thoroughly enjoyed his visit because of his vivacious personality and eagerness to share tips on poetry writing”.
Thank you to Joshua for visiting and we look forward to inviting you back again.
