同乐城官网 www.xyqp168.com During their time at the Junior School, the girls, through both Religious Studies lessons and assemblies, become increasingly aware of their beliefs and values, and those of others around them. In lessons, girls are encouraged to express and explore their ideas about the world, and its 'big questions'.
We actively encourage the girls to talk about their personal experiences, based on their own religions.
In addition to learning about Christianity, the girls in the Pre-Prep and the Prep School study the main six world religions. They learn about founders and important leaders, key religious beliefs, places of worship, festivals and life cycle rites. Artifacts are readily accessible for the girls to handle. To reinforce their learning further, the girls make several visits to places of worship such as a synagogue, mandir and Buddhist temple. The girls also get to meet and question people from different religious communities.
The girls study important religious figures, including the Dalai Lama, Martin Luther-King, Gandhi and Mother Teresa.
We aim for each child to leave our school with a good understanding of the religions around them, to be able to compare and contrast beliefs, and appreciate and value their differences.
